Thunder and Lightning necessitates that contests be suspended. The occurrence of thunder and/or lightning is not subject to interpretation or discussion.
When thunder is heard and/or when lightning is seen, the following policies should be adhered to:
suspend play and direct participants to go to shelter, a building normally occupied by the public.
play shall be suspended for 30 minutes after the last boom is heard and/or strike is seen.
if thunder is heard and/or lightning seen during the 30 minutes, a new 30 minute waiting period must begin.
